 Our Spanish Curriculum

The Spanish Curriculum is taught by class teachers in Key Stage 2 using Language Angels resources and schemes of work .

The Spanish units cover speaking, listening and writing as well as exposing the children to aspects of the Spanish Speaking World.

As the children progress through the curriculum they become more confident and are expected to speak and write in more complex sentences.

Many children at school do not go abroad for holidays and so learning a new language and exploring the culture of other countries  provides them with exciting new experiences that widen their horizons.

PROGRESSION IN KNOWLEDGE

Our MFL endpoints are carefully designed to ensure progress from Year 3 to Year 6.  We have mapped both substantive knowledge (what pupils should know) and disciplinary knowledge (see ‘Working as a Linguist’) to ensure clear progression and a curriculum where knowledge and skills build over time.
